Cheats/Hackers in Contest of Mayors

I understand your frustration, if you go to the in game help section there is a tab at the bottom to report a player. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, but I did that first. Received a useless reply from them that stated to post on this forum. I have replied to them as well.

I got quite a good reply when I reported cheats/hackers in war and within 2 weeks the club reported, plus others have been removed from the leader board. I may be being cynical, but I find it disgraceful they care a lot more about war, a competition where the prizes are woeful.

I believe you are correct but it probably boils down to the fact you will see 10 war game complaints for every CoM. Club Presidents are rightfully irate that their club is suffering from blatant unfair practices (cheating) and they’re correctly taking action to defend their mayors (and I applaud them for it). The cheating in the CoM is as blatant as in the war games and hopefully soon EA will be able to address both and quickly identify the cheaters and deal appropriately with them.

Yes, ultimately the contest is a bit of a lottery. It probably has to be to allow more people a chance of winning, but allowing hackers in is a disgrace. It has happened again this week in my league with the same cities. 

Why do think they scored more points than is possible? Their scores are very high, but it is just a higher percentage of ~3k tasks....

Who knows if they cheated or not, but their scores are not impossible - if the game randomly issued them with a constant stream of 3000 point tasks they could have scored 165,000....

Speaking with my own experience (not to mean to brag just for clarification) such scores is possible.

I have scored 144,200 first place, the Beach COM Season.It was the first week of the Megalopolis.

And the two succeding weeks of the Mega I score not less than 100,000+ but sadly I went way below.

One score even higher than my score 147,000+ ...

High scoring tasks that gives mostly 2000+ up to 3000 this scores is very possible.

To be remove from the game is quite unfair I think.

If EA is dumb founded they know it was a clean win.

To win is great but to accept defeat is noble.

Likely they are using the save/load game work around to ensure only obtaining 3K assignments.

When they see a lower assignment all they have to do is reload from cloud until they get a 3K assignment.  You know, the message you get when your city is out of sync with cloud, and it asks you if you want to reload?

As the poster above me said, if one’s cheating, it’s likely they’re using the out of sync/reload thing.

However, it’s also important to realise that not all high scores are the result of that, as some can just get very lucky with lots of 3k point tasks.  

Two weeks ago in Megalopolis, I had a favourable amount of 3k tasks in my first 60 assignments, finishing with 130k. I was even more overjoyed when my first two golden ticket tasks were both 3k too (upgrade 3 Omega homes and launch 3 disasters). As golden ticket tasks repeat in an A-B-A-B pattern, that assured me of an extra 45k points over the 15 golden ticket assignments. 

As that was almost the maximum one could hypothetically get, I proceeded to use 15 golden tickets to finish with 175k. About 8 hours from the finishing time, I was top and confident of winning a Megalopolis league for the first time in many many months.

But 2 hours later, I saw that a city had come from nowhere and surpassed me with a mind-boggling 194,000 score. Doing the math, he/she averaged 2,586 points per task. Even more astounding was that the city had come from nowhere (didn’t notice it in the top 10) to suddenly shoot to the top in just a few hours (i know its possible to SimCash one’s way through it).

Supposing he was as lucky as me to get all 3k tasks in his/her 15 golden tickets, it means he outscored me by 19k over the 60 initial assignments. 

I was gob-smacked and frustrated, but resigned to the disappointed. I wanted to report the city, but knowing that nothing would be done, ended up not bothering to. 

It is truly sad that it has eroded to this...but I understand clearly where you’re coming from. When the stars align themselves just right and you have an honest opportunity to fulfill a goal and you work diligently to achieve that target and accomplish the task at hand it gives you that rush of excitement and success...it’s a great feeling in anything you do. Then to have that accomplishment over shadowed by someone that resorts to taking shortcuts and cheating is very frustrating...but take solace in the fact that they didn’t experience that same filling self respect moment that you enjoyed. But it still sucks...

I understand why you feel it’s a waste of time to report the player, EA has earned that and needs to own it. But if you have credible evidence of wrongdoing  go ahead and report them....nothing may come of it, but if you don’t nothing will.
