Data hoging while updating on slow connections, says it's offline.

I have a throttled 14KB connection. My VPN says SimCity or Google Play Services are using most of the bandwidth during their updates, and I can't do the Train Dispatch, Global Store HQ, and the Competition Challenge leaderboards. They always say error 17, 23, or offline, or something went wrong. I check, and much of the time it's SimCity itself interfering like a data hog. I'm constantly getting stuck offline during critical play times, for 30 minutes to 2 hours, while it does updates in the background. I can shut Google, but your updates are crippling the global play features.

Could you make it so the updates can be throttled for slow connections like mine, so we can still get some data through to play? It's frustrating with the clock running out, and having no access. I can play offline stuff just fine, but it's crippled.

  • If you haven’t done so recently, save game, delete and reinstall. It will clear a ton of old files. When SimCity updates, it doesn’t clear old files. You end up with massive amounts of gigabytes being used by useless files. I have found that reinstalling  helps the game run more efficiently
