How to collect taxes from other regions in SimCity?

The 'Total Population' number under City Hall correctly displays the population across regions. But the Daily income does not increase until we upgrade a building the Capital City. The number of people in other regions dont matter. Anyone knows how to collect taxes from other regions too? I checked, there is no option to build City Hall in regions.

  • @EternalOptimist5  Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately you can not collect taxes in your regions. Each region has its own unique currency with no exchange rate structure in place although requiring simoleons to support all infrastructure support (fire, police, medical, etc.) and expansion (land, beach, mountain & storage). From a pure economic perspective, the regions are simply a financial burden on your city and goes against the base logic of city building games and in particular Simcity. I shared this premise previously in the forum, but as of now no changes have been implemented.

With that said once you have exhausted building your capital city it does provide an opportunity to continue developing without having to start a 2nd city. There are some interesting buildings and themes you can pursue but remember your capital city is funding the project. Good luck!

Thank you @PinnacleValley . They should implement the change to collect taxes from all regions. Otherwise there is no economic point in developing other regions until we start getting a steady flow of income from capital.

I don't think this is true anymore if it once was, but I would like to hear other input. I asked support and the auto response gave me the following. Also, the screen shot really implies that you do collect taxes from regions.

Increase/decrease of regional population has no effect on taxes collected. In the pictures below the only difference  is significant change in the size of the regional population only (compare Total Population). It has no effect on taxes collected (compare Daily Income).
