Re: simcity build it

My guess is that it is either one of two things:
- it is rigged and some of the top cities are shills. The goal would be to force u to buy simcash in an attempt to complete tasks faster while chasing.
- the reward/tasks are randomized, thereby making the results a matter of chance vs strategy. I have no idea why they would do this, but if the first idea is false then this is the only remaining possibility imo.

I am 100% confident that EA does not use shills.  These are real people players.  Last week, I skyrocketed to the top with some lucky draws early on and stayed there the whole time and finsihed nearly 10,000 above anyone else.  This week I keep bouncing back and forth between 1st and 2nd.  I'm going to mess around here and actually get platinum keys that I don't want.....  so....  I'm having to take a break for a day and let someone pass me up even though I could get another 4000ish points right now.  I want to be in that 3,4,5 range to get 8 gold keys.

Why don't you want Platinum Keys? They are the only reason I put myself through the Hell that is the Mayors Contest.

Oh! By the way your league looks a whole lot more equitable than mine no way I'm getting 50,000 points with the assignments I'm getting. Multiple factory runs of 5-7 hrs to earn 11-1200 points yeah right!

Because Gold Keys are all the rage right now. 🙂

I'm not at a point that I need to worry about getting them.  I have certain things I'm working on and goals to accomplish that, right now, all require gold keys.  So, 8 gold keys for 3rd place is better than 2 platinum key for 1st or 2nd place to me.  I will get to a point another 9 months from now where I may want the buildings that platinum keys can buy, but I have too much other stuff to work on rather than earning Platinum keys.

I still contend that they should not have implemented a 4th currency, but instead made the new buildings worth more gold keys and the higher placements in the contest worth more gold keys.  There is no need for platinum keys.

I agree with you on the Platinum keys being unnecessary I'm just desperate for new buildings. How many Washington Monuments and Ferris Wheels does one city need? Yet if you want to have an easy path to the Epic Challenges you must maximize your 3pt. Buildings.

I agree, they need to diversify the 3pt buildings more, but that is another issue altogether.  The best suggestion I've heard as of late was to make a Museum 3pt and take up the space of a residential building.  Have it cost more keys, that's fine, but Education takes up too much space.  The museum was always a part of education in the PC games.

Education, what about Entertainment, those footprints are huge and the Stadium and its 8x12 footprint is only a 2 pt. building. Sometimes I think EA just blindfolds some intern and has them throw darts at the wall to determine the attributes of the different buildings there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason behind it sometimes. You have parks costly many times more providing less pop. boost than basic parks, 60,000 for a Sakura Park that has an 8x8 area of influence and 25% boost or 10 Peaceful Parks for 6,000 ea., a 6x10 area of influence, and 25% boost easy decision for me. The huge Worship buildings with significant costs of 40 Gold keys do almost nothing for your city why? and don't they even have an Epic line.
