I've never bothered with the war business but do belong to a team.
I am at 470 storage now and easily maintain a nice balance.
We all should remember how this game and we started, slogging along building as best and fast as we could.
Now we get another chance or three to create our regions.
Just another slog and as of now, nothing more.
So, just enjoy what you can make and enjoy what we comes our way.
It seems as if the issue of needing items from regions you are not part of has been fixed which is great and with three sections open and building and almost 50K population, this is mellow fun.
To all those poopooing the poopooers about the new regions, of which I am one of the poopooers, It's not that I don't want access the new regions, it's that they integrated the new regions in a way that breaks the base game.
As a software guy myself, the first rule is DO NOT BREAK the production release. They introduced too much too quickly in a game that requires patience and time.
You have to work really hard to get a decent amount of storage in a system that is quite stingy with the rare items required to increase storage, city expansion, etc.
Literally overnight dozens of new items were introduced to every aspect of a game whose storage resources are exceptionally limited for those that abhor games that are "pay to win."
It might be different if everyone was less than level 25 and could gradually acclimate to the new regions and inventory, but for me at level 61 I was in a good place storage-wise and suddenly I was dead in the water so to speak.
Building upgrades, war items, Vu repairs were all suddenly requiring resources I didn't have, random rewards were suddenly eating highly coveted storage space, etc...
Something should have been done to account for all the new inventory or the base game should have been kept isolated with some sort of tiered integration, at least in my opinion.
- Agreed, for CoM, of 20 tasks, 6 have been from regions for me. Most of them 2000 pts. There will be no way to win a prize as I am still trying to save for a gas station in a region that I don’t want to build so the three abandoned houses will move back, so I can be competitive in CoM.
I believe a lot of people would appreciate regions more if the first regional buildings, the ones that cost 300, were free or much cheaper for the first placement. It’d make the beginning a lot more enjoyable which seems like one of the bigger complaints. Only a few weeks in I’m looking at 10k+ excess currency, making that initial shortage seem like a needless and untimely hurdle.
Also, looking at CoM task “produce and collect 40 crude oil - 1 hour”. It takes 48 minutes to produce that many, or 42 if you have a batch hovering. That strikes me as a little harsh on time constraint and need to observe a timer compared to any other production task.
