I can't find my game

Hello, first I would like to ask for your help, recently my computer was infected by a virus, I managed to recover most of my files but when installing the origin and trying to install simcity only the option appears (Details) and I can't find the game because how folders were excluded. Please help me.

  • Hi @DualOregon756 - First, make certain you're logged in with the same email/user name as before. Sometimes when reinstalling, you can forget which account was used to buy the game.

If you're certain the account is the correct one, then I suggest that you uninstall Origin completely following the directions for "the hard way" using the directions here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/#hard-way Then reinstall Origin from the download page. You just never know what happens when you have a virus infection, and this will help to be sure all the files are installed correctly.

Default location for your SimCity game offline save files is C:\<YourWindowsUserName>\Documents\SimCity\Games They should not be removed during an uninstall, but if you have a clean backup, you can copy the entire folder over. If you have games online, they are saved on the server, so you only need to select the correct server to find them.

Please post back and let us know if it works out. 🤞 Happy Building!

@DualOregon756 - I'm sorry the uninstall / reinstall Origin didn't work. I've been doing a little research on this subject and there's not much more we can do from the client side.

There's one more thing that seemed to work for some people. Close out of Origin completely, then log into https://www.origin.com/

    Choose "My Game Library"

    Choose "SimCity"

    Click "Play on Origin"

It should pop up a window where you can choose "Launch Origin" - log in and hopefully it will open SimCity.

If this doesn't work, then it unfortunately is probably an account issue, especially if you've ever played SimCity through Steam or had/have an EA Play subscription. We can't help here with account issues, so if you can't get it to launch through the website, please contact EA Help. Explain what happened, and let them know all the troubleshooting steps you've already tried. Ask them to check your account to verify SimCity is still activated on your account.

Please let us know how it works out.
