Install/Download Error

Hi, I wanted to get back into SimCity so I downloaded it- which took about an hour. Then it said the update was complete but an error popped up saying: "Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable packag...

    Hi @albrant123, and welcome to Answers HQ!

    It's great to read you feel like spending some time on SimCity, let's try to fix this so you can play your game 😉

    Try this:

    1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\__Installer\vc\vc2008sp1MFCUpdate\redist
    2. Right click on vcredist_x86.exe, and select Run as administrator
    3. Wait until the installation finishes, and try again.

    That should be the VC++ redistributable package that was not installed successfully. Let us know if it helps 🙂

Sorry, I haven't checked back in on this!

I actually got it up and it works great, thank you for all the help.
