Simcity Crash OSX 10.13

    Hi @HornyBarmaidz - This thread is about an issue with OSX 10.13, which was solved with the Apple update to 10.14 (in August 2018). 

    Please check this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/SimCity-2013/Mac-Mouse-Cursor-and-Display-Resolution-Problems/m-p/7839105#M127554 If your problem matches this issue, click the "Me Too" button on the first post and add your system info & details following the info there. There are a couple of workarounds listed that you can try, while EA works with Apple to hopefully resolve this issue.

    If this is not the problem you're having, please start a new thread giving specifics of the issue and your system info.

Same here. Nothing I try has solved the issue.

Just an update to this,

I've just applied the Supplementary update for 10.13 - In the change log it mentioned a graphics bugfix relating to crashes in Adobe (wishful thinking I know).

It hasn't changed the behaviour with Simcity; it still bombs out with the same error text as I originally posted.

    The same thing has happened to me also. I can't figure out what it is. It's a big bummer because I really enjoyed playing simcity. Before it took a lot longer to crash, now it's gradually crashed earlier and earlier into the game. I can't even get the first main road down before it just closes. It's really quite annoying. It's gotta be something within the high sierra update that clashes with it. But there needs to be an update to the game if that's the case. It was working fantastic before I did the update, now I'm almost regretting it.

      I was searching for a completely different problem but found a random one-line post from someone about Mac graphics. Thought I'd pop in and at least let you know, in case it's relevant. They said to make sure to turn off Automatic Graphic Card Switching in the Energy Saver menu; if you don't the game will incur frame rate and freezing issues.

      This was a quick response to someone who mentioned upgrading to a Macbook Pro, and was made a few years ago, but it might at least give you an area to check for this newest update?

      As I know nothing about Macs, please forgive if this has no relevance and is a stupid thought.

        It might be because my macbook pro is an older model(2013), but I don't have that option under energy saver. Even looked up the graphics specs and only have one listed. So that's not the issue with it for me, was worth a try though. It's so strange because it was working fine before until High sierra came along.
