Simcity Crash OSX 10.13

    Hi @HornyBarmaidz - This thread is about an issue with OSX 10.13, which was solved with the Apple update to 10.14 (in August 2018). 

    Please check this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/SimCity-2013/Mac-Mouse-Cursor-and-Display-Resolution-Problems/m-p/7839105#M127554 If your problem matches this issue, click the "Me Too" button on the first post and add your system info & details following the info there. There are a couple of workarounds listed that you can try, while EA works with Apple to hopefully resolve this issue.

    If this is not the problem you're having, please start a new thread giving specifics of the issue and your system info.

I may have stumbled across something here; I've been playing with the graphics settings in the game and it seems to have helped the stability of the game.

I've set all of the graphics options to their lowest option/value (excluding the resolution, which I left at what it was already set at).

I'm not certain of the long-term stability impacts (not had enough time to play the game for any real amount of time), but it seemed to help with the stability.

    As an update to this, updating to 10.13.2 hasn't altered this behaviour; the game still crashes out sporadically.

      Talked to support for a few hours over the past few days.  They specialists say that there are no solutions at the time, and it doesn't look likely (as they do not have a studio for SimCity anymore).  They are offering The Sims 3 Deluxe Edition for free as a consolation. 

      To forum moderators, please keep us updated on this issue moving forward.  For those of us that purchased the game less than a year ago, it really isn't fair to get a different game (that isn't even the newest version) as a consolation.  We would like to be able to play the game we purchased.

        That's nice that they are offering another game for free. But I have the sims 4 and 3 so that one wouldn't interest me. I hope they do come up with a fix for it sometime in the future, it's a great game that a lot of people I'm sure enjoyed playing. It's a shame it stopped working after the recent update, I can't imagine that much is different with it. Is that version of sims 3 even the same value as what you paid for Simcity? Because if they're going to offer something. It should be the same price as the game that doesn't work in my opinion.
