I have an Nvidia GS Series and it is happening to me. Not the best card in the world but it copes with it well even with the setting up full.
I have managed to play for a few hours with all the setting down to min (although it will still BSOD on me).
I have spoken to tech support at EA and the guy told me to load "simcity" profile setting for my graphics card by loading up my graphics card GUI and selecting it in there. I did turn some of the settings off which might have helped.
Anyway, this problem isn't just happening to people with AMD cards.......
