How to Make Skate Great Again — Tricklining, Customization & Community Maps.
Title: How to Make Skate Great Again - Tricklining, Customization and Community Maps
I honestly think Skate has so much potential, but I feel like some of EA’s decisions are taking away what made the game so fun in the first place.
- Bring back tricklining
One of the things I loved most when Skate first came out was spending hours learning how to pop, do no-comply flips and master tricklines. It was so satisfying to finally learn a trick or land a line you had been trying for ages.
I don’t understand why these mechanics have to be removed completely. I get that some glitches can cause problems, but why not let players use them in free skate? Not everything needs to be balanced for competitive play.
- Let players create their own skateparks
I would love to see something similar to Fortnite Creative, where players can build their own maps and share them with everyone.
Imagine being able to create your own street spots, skateparks or crazy maps, then skate them with your friends. The community could create so much content that the game would never really get boring.
- Add way more customization
There should be way more clothes, brands, shoes, baggy pants, jackets and accessories. The same goes for skateboards: more decks, grip tapes, trucks, wheels and custom graphics.
Skateboarding is all about style, so players should be able to create a character and setup that actually feel unique.
- Make multiplayer more fun
There should be more ways to play with friends, like private sessions, S.K.A.T.E. challenges, competitions and community events.
The game should feel like a place where you meet up with friends to skate, try new tricks and have fun, even when you’re not doing missions.
- Give players more freedom
I feel like Skate could be much more than a game where you complete challenges and unlock cosmetics.
Imagine combining tricklining, custom skateparks, deep customization and the ability to film your own clips. Players could spend hours creating their own lines and skating with friends.
Final thoughts
I genuinely want Skate to succeed, but I think EA needs to understand what makes players want to spend hundreds of hours on a skateboarding game.
For me, it’s about freedom, creativity and getting better at the game.
Bring back the mechanics that made tricklining fun, give us the tools to create our own maps and let us customize pretty much everything.
I honestly think these changes could make Skate an incredible game for years, and I would definitely spend way more time playing it if they were added.
I hope the devs take this kind of feedback seriously!
