I feel like I'm about to echo most sentiments here but it's a fun mode that brings back spots on the map that I've otherwise forgotten about but with some major overlooks in its mechanics.
Firstly, it wasn't what I was expecting, but I did enjoy it.
What I was expecting was a much longer time in each area of the map - so it almost felt like real life with friends where you have a bunch of stuff to do (say at Rolling Waves) and then after 15 minutes IRL you say to your friends "eh we're bored, lets move to a new spot".
The game every 15 mins or so just moves the spot, and gives everyone a bunch of new things to do. Kinda like a glorified OTL (or like how skate weekend worked for each day, just faster)
That said, with the mode we have now... here's feedback on that specifically:
Being able to start and keep a score multi before the "trick" based task runs begin is a really obvious and bad idea. It then doesn't reward skill in the time limit you have, but instead is just "who did the most stuff when we were idle" and carried a 4x multi into it.
Some of the tasks/competitions to do don't feel extremely well balanced or thought out.
Longest nose manual for a challenge isn't so much about "who can balance the longest", it's just "who can get the most speed at the start before the timer starts, to carry that speed so you don't slow down to a stop".
Most spins in a bowl - I actually thing is good, especially as there's skill here with prewinding - this actually rewards player skill.
Longest grinds - its a tough one, every player has their own settings, people on 0 assist vs 100 assist means there is no balancing between players.
Settings wise, I think its another one where the game needs some sort of uniformity for settings when you're asking for PvP.
If you're asking players to ollie up onto higher ledges and get lots of grinds, it's not fair that someone with 0 pop height and 0 grind assist is going up against someone with 100/100 for example.

Lastly, not my idea, but it sounds fun - some sort of team based version of this where you can queue with friends would be nice.
Like we have with the real X Games? Group A is in the lead vs Group B.
THPS does stuff like painting the spots where you have got best scores or lines.
Might be fun as a group to see them painted red vs blue (or whatever).
You could even be put into the fictional skate crews in the game like DaKs.
