pay wall on the first map expansion?

Yes rip chips are easily earnable, but I seriously don't understand the need to have the 24 hour ticket at all. It's like a spit in the face of F2P players. This decision to me seems like a clear way for them to just squeeze a few extra people into the premium pass. But it feels so shortsighted. They lose so much good will from the playerbase by doing this, it surely won't be worth it in the long run. 500 rip chips is a joke, it's basically just asking you to press an extra button to enter the new area if you've been a regular player. So why even have it in the first place? Just let premium members have early access, and then open the island to the masses forever. I feel like the early access is a good enough way to give value to the premium members without insulting the non-premium members. I imagine most players by now have tens of thousands of rip chips left over. This 500 chip ticket literally achieves NOTHING, and it pisses off the community. It's like every decision behind how this game is run is engineered to push limit of what the playerbase will take. 

I enjoy this game, I really do, but I feel like every time a new update drops I am being challenged to drop it forever. If you want people to buy the premium pass, make them love the game first! I bought both of the passes so far and I did it just because I want to support the game, not because of the "value" they provide.
