I experienced a bug where upon launching the game, the small loading window would appear. After it went away, like it was about to go fullscreen, the game crashed. I was able to fix this issue by repairing Microsoft Visual C++. To do this: press win+R, type "appwiz.cpl" in the command window, find your most recent Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable (2015-2022), right-click, hit change, and hit repair. After the program runs, restart your pc and the game should work again. Hope this helps as this was the only thing that would work for me and was barely mentioned anywhere.
