Arcade Mode is not what was wanted. Full game against BOTS is what is wanted.

After playing the beta and reading MANY posts on "Arcade" the consensus is the following:

"Arcade" is NOT what people wanted nor have been asking from since SWBF1 was announced 2+ years ago.

What we wanted:

Offline or against bots alone or with a friend either thought friends list online or couch co-op of the ENTIRE, let me repeat, ENTIRE Multiplayer experience. All maps, hero's, modes, and ships/vehicles, simply just against bots instead of online competitive. THIS is what people have been asking for time and time again, forever now, and where is it? Post after post saying the same thing I just said, and no response from DICE. Heck, even gaming sites are posting articles saying this. There are piles of Youtube video's saying this. So, either they clearly want to ignore the demand for this, or they flat out just don't care to put it in the game for some outlandish reason. A reasons that perplexes me as to why. I honestly do not get how this still is not in the game. No, Skirmish from the first SWBF is not what people wanted either, it was a step in the right direction, but not the real full experience we all wanted.

What they gave us:

Small maps with either timed scenarios or kill count missions that is couch co-op with a friend against "bots". Completely separate from anything close to the Multiplayer experience. No flying or vehicles. No real objectives or huge battles like the online has. Nothing of what anyone really wanted.

Now you tell me. How is it that the old SWBFII could have an entire game (Galactic Conquest) worth of offline bot battles and scenarios with ships, flying, and land battles....but the new games can't? How? Where is the logic in NOT having this in the game? Are all the people that enjoyed this in the old SWBF2 a minority or something? Because, I remember spending hours and hours playing Galactic Conquest and doing all sorts of fun things offline against bots. I also see posts from the Beta thread saying the exact things I have just said. So, something is off here. Something is not getting through to DICE.

One of the only reasons I cared about the new SWBF2 was because they said we would have "Arcade" mode with bots and a Single Player campaign. I will say it, I pretty much hated the new SWBF. It was nothing but a multiplayer game, with a VERY small offline mode (Skirmish) that two people worked on to make. No, I am not a online competitive person, I personally can't stand playing against other people online, for many reasons. I play games to relax, escape, and enjoy myself. Not get killed repeatedly by over-skilled players, listen to elitists and rude condescending trolls, or not watching people use exploits or cheat to ruin it for everyone else. I prefer to play alone with bots or with a friend in a Horde mode or Co-Op setting, because I have FUN doing it. I rarely ever have fun in online competitive things. After playing the beta, the only thing I care about is the Single Player campaign now because the "Arcade" mode is not really what was being promoted, nor was it what people wanted.

Yes, I tried the multiplayer in the beta, and it was the same nonsense where good players hogged the Hero's and I was always struggling to even get enough points to buy one....if it was ever available. Had DICE simply added the multiplayer experience against bots instead of people, I could have really enjoyed that, I really wish I could....but it's not in the game.

Dice. Would a response be that hard for you? You seriously can't say that the piles of posts about this is not getting through somehow.

I never said that you will destroy anyone, I said that you will be destroyed all the same, and you'll find it even more unfair. Right now I mostly have rare-tier cards, with some epic ones here and there, but if I could gain the same amount of credits in even less time offline, I'd run around 100% epic with all of my troopers.

I'm sorry that you are not good at the game, but multiplayer is about skill, it always have been.

Here's an analogy for you: if you get your arse handed to you in some martial arts competition, or while playing chess, or... well bloody well anything, will you start complaining that it is not fair, the opponent was more skilled? Ugh...

This whole conversation just feels like a stalemate though, so you won't have to bother with my face again, I'm out. I don't even understand why the online-offline challenge merging is so important to you, since - if I understand correctly - you'd play offline anyway, if Dice gave you the chance.

  • I have all Purple Tier on my Officer, and that is the ONLY class I can earn 10,000+ points or get on the end roster in a game with. I can't do that on any other classes, even with Purple Tier unlocked on them, and NEVER with Hero or Villain...even with Purple Tier unlocked. I set on the Specialist and only get a few kills per game spending most my time dying. I have wasted DAYS and HOURS on the Specialist in order to unlock it's final weapon. It took me weeks to get 200 kills to unlock the final gun, yes that long. So, what you are saying is, had I been able to unlock that stuff offline against bots in much less time, it would somehow effect the entire game? No, it wouldn't. I am not going to do that well no matter how much I unlock on all but the Officer. Period. I certainly am not going to do well AT ALL in the Starfighter modes, I just die continually there.

Martial Arts and a form of entertainment (a video game) are VERY different things. Martial Arts is about discipline and learning. A Video Game is about relaxing, escaping, and fun. You cannot equate the two. I CAN complain about a video game, martial arts is not something you complain about because you want to learn and get better because it is about YOU and your life, not a freakin' video game.

I would play offline if the entire multiplayer experience was there, and it is not. But, if I was still not earning things or unlocking things I wouldn't want to do it much then.

As it is now, with the new update, it added nothing for me. No offline against bots multiplayer, so pointless. The new Jetpack mode is just more competitive garbage. Right now I am done with the game because I frankly do not have fun with it much at all. All I have unlocked and earned was just one long frustrating, cheap, unfair, glitched fiasco spent with half the time dying and waiting for the counter to respawn me. I was literally frustrated within one match every time I liked in this game. Every single time. I tried, but unless I can play and earn things against bots, I will not get any real enjoyment out of this game.

And we still don't have this in the game. Just more boring skins, maps, and characters that add nothing of value to the actual game. These "Seasons" are a joke. The game has been out for 5 months and all you do is the same things (which are online) you did when it came out, still. I don;t see why people think this stuff is fun, there is nothing FUN in a repetitive online only mode over and over again. New skins, maps, and Hero or Villain...but you are still doing the EXACT SAME THING putting up with over-skilled players and exploiters. What's the freakin' point?

LET US PLAY THE ENTIRE MULTIPLAYER GAME OFFLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND STILL BE ABLE TO EARN THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They've added 7 new maps to arcade and starfighter mode is coming next week (a long an 8th additional map Jabba's palace). That's a lot of content they've added for us offline folks already. I agree that we still need a large game mode including 40 players and vehicles on all the large maps though.

  • EA has already made it clear that they don't care what we want for this game, beyond what they can get away with making money off of.  They're either holding out for a battlefront 3, or they're purposefully making the game different so they don't have to admit they were wrong and screwed up TWICE.  EA Battlefront 1 is a dead game now, but they're still shamelessly selling it despite 95% of its content being inaccessible since its almost all live multiplayer only.  I hope Disney strips EA of the rights that they've made clear they don't want anyways and gives them to a company that deserves them/makes them open for multiple companies to use.  It sounds like Squadrons also doesn't have any kind of offline multiplayer/instant action or anything against bots, which shows that they either don't care or that they've learned absolutely nothing, and I find it pretty hard to believe anyone can be that dense.
