Battlefront 2 has NO audio.

I just set my pc back up and opened the game for the first time in at least a year or 2. No audio. None at all. I've quite literally done everything I know to do or found online. I've repaired the game through the EA applicaiton, numerous times. Uninstall/reinstall, check over all the audio settings on my pc 20 times, getting correct audio outputs, so on. Checked the in-game audio settings, they're as they should be. Every other game on my computer plays audio just fine, even other EA games. I've even bought it on steam and downloaded it there to see if that fixes the problem. All drivers are up to date, OS is the most recent version. Quite literally everything I can think to do in my knowledge. I've hit a brick wall and I don't know what else to do. SOS before I lose my mind.

  • Thanks for including some of the things you tried. It's helpful.

What do you have your audio set to in Windows - i.e. what's selected when you click on the audio icon in the taskbar?

What is your audio set to in-game?

Thanks for the reply. I've got two different sources of auido output, a pair of Logitech speakers and a Corsair Headset. Typically I have my output set to my speakers. In-game, I have my audio output set to automatic. I've checked my mixer, and the output is always set to the right output, and the volume for the game is set all the way up. I'll attach a SS of my in game audio settings on the chance maybe I'm just stupid and have something off.

Thanks for the screenshot. Everything looks good there.

I remember at one point, I had to go into Windows sound devices and disable some unused devices. There was a device in there I wasn't using that was apparently causing some issues.

    Thanks for the reply.

Disabling the unused sound devices was one solution I kept seeing, so I've glossed through a few times and the only outputs I have enabled are my speakers and my headphones. I'll disable one and try booting and vice versa. I'm sorry I know audio is a tricky thing to assist with over a support chat, but I absolutely appreciate any help you can give me.  Honestly part of me thinks that it could be something in the game files, but with the amount of times I've repaired the game I'd be shocked if there was still something corrupted.

Just kinda speaking into the void here, has anyone found a solution/had the same problem yet?

I am having the same/similar problem where once I start up battlefront II all of my pc audio stops working. I use an audio interface (Voice meter) to run my XLR mic through, and control app outputs. Something odd I noticed is that if I select the channel "A2" to be active (My speakers) It does output my audio and I can hear the game, however with "A1" is selected (My headphones) I cannot hear the audio through my headphones.

This leads me to believe that the source of the problem is within the games input/output selection, which happens to be non-adjustable.

Yes, my windows input and output are set correctly according to the voice meter channels. It is simply battlefront that messes up my audio.

  • Getting the same problem here, tried everything, even clean booting, nothing has worked, just gonna uninstall the game tbh, not worth wasting an hour on bug fixing, im not a dev, i got other games in my rotation. Let me know if you find a fix for it though! I definitely agree that it must be a mistake with how the game selects the output.

Thats exactly what I've been thinking, and with all the solutions I've tried I figured it was just something that I messed up with on my PC (I'm not the smartest when it comes to computer stuff), but honestly your idea sounds more plausible. Part of me was thinking that maybe I was missing an audio file, but I scanned my files like 5 times and repaired the app's files through EA, Steam, and Epic countless times.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem, hopefully one day we can figure out a solution. It's hard to enjoy a Star Wars game, especially with it's recent popularity boost, without all of the Star Wars sounds.
