Battlefront II freezes my entire PC every minute or so.

I'm not sure if I should post this here or on the Nexus forum. I have been running a handful of mods on Battlefront II in single-player (Nihilus replacing Dooku mod being the only one used), and after each time period of about 40 seconds, my entire screen (even if the game is minimized) will freeze for 5 seconds. Then, after unfreezing, it will freeze for an instant again one second later. I've tried turning off "share usage data" which did not resolve the problem entirely.
