Today's update definately broke the game for me as well.
I have:
1. Checked if there have been any W10 updates since yesterday and there were none.
2. I have verified the game files. There are no errors.
3. I have reinstalled Origin client.
4. I have installed the BETA version of origin (Fixed the SWBFII Beta on a previous W10 installation when SWBFII was acting up and wouldn't start)
5. I have reinstalled latest GPU Drivers at the time of writing this (388.31).
6. I have reinstalled (repaired) all Vcred packages, both from BFII installation directory and from MS website. No luck.It should also be noted that i am running enthusiast class GPU (1080Ti), which really should not be posing a problem.
Thank god EA is working on this game. Great update guys.
Updating now via GeForce experience, will update results.
EDIT: Seems to work just fine on a GTX 1070, WIN10

I checked via nvidia website for the latest drivers, and it's the same i already have. I even used the official nvidia driver listing to download and reinstall them to no avail.
What driver version are you using?

@Klax00r85 Your issue seems to be quite separate from the main one. The p5000 is a workstation graphics card, and sometimes they don't come out with the same driver packages at the same time as the consumer-grade GTX cards.
Are you getting the error message about upgrading to 388.31?
@SPARTAN-11510 There are unofficial steps for older frostbite games that can bypass the driver check, but I can't endorse them. If you want to find out more you can look here but you may prefer to wait until Nvidia release an updated package. 388.31
Game was super choppy after update tho, then changed settings back to auto and it seems to work fine for now.
EDIT: HvV works, can't seem to find any galactic assault games??
Have yet to try other gamemodes.

Guess i read to hastily and got the two issues mixed up. No, i am not getting any messages of any kind. The game just won't launch properly. All i get is a black screen with the mouse pointer, and then nothing happens. I have to alt+F4 out of it to get back to desktop.

@Klax00r85 Thanks for the clarification. There are 2 steps that have helped with other post-patch issues, hopefully they help here too.
To start with, navigate to your C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Star Wars battlefront II\Settings and delete the BootOptions file. Then start up the game, hopefully things will run without issue.
If this isn't effective you can go to your game install folder in (C:\Origin games or wherever you store your game files) then delete starwarsbattlefrontii.exe If you have an exe file for the trial present please delete this too.
Then click the game panel in Origin and choose the repair option, and start the game when this finishes. Have to come back on saying that setting settings to auto fixed stutters, game is now very choppy on all modes.
Had no issue pre patch.

Thank you for your reply,
While awaiting for your reply i had already begun uninstalling and redownloading the game. It seems to have resolved the issue. I assume that during the uninstallation process the bootoptions file is deleted. I'm now back up and running (and shooting)!
