Save Data Bug PS4 - Unable to connect

Hey EA,

Since the 7th of April I was unable to play online on my PS4 getting all kinds of error codes. I've seen them all probably, but mainly the famous 721 and other error codes said the account had issues going online.

This was odd since I was able to go online with any other game but Battlefront 2.

After resseting my router, checking my internet cables, checking my PSN account, rebooting the PS4 multiple times, even reinstalling the game I still experienced this issue.

However, when I deleted (after backing up) my save data from my PS4, suddenly I was able to connect to online again. Then I restored the backup of my save data, went into the game and again experience many error codes and was unable to connect. Clearly, there is a bug in my save data.

It's a stab in the dark, but it might be caused by the fact I maxed out the level on my officer (70) the last time I played. Maybe the save data got corrupted by reaching the level cap?

Anyway, I'm happy that I found the problem and I can now play the game again. But I lost months of progress and are not too happy to start all over again. I had many epic cards and as I said even maxed out the officer.

Is there a way for you guys to fix my save data?

    Hey all,

    I messed around with my router yesterday, and this seems to have fixed the connection (for now).

    Turns out my DMZ was disabled on my router, so I enabled it. I have no idea what it does exactly, but apparently it can help you solve connection problems in Battlefront II.

    Hope this solution helps other players!

    Hey @georgef91 Thanks for all that information!  So that is a weird bug as all of your Multiplayers stats are saved on our servers so even if you remove everything about SWBf2 from your Ps4 and its cloud, it's still saved on our server. So you cant remove your Multiplayer stats. 

    So you "only" remove settings, single-player save files and cached files.

    Hey @EA_Atic,

    When I played yesterday, all of a sudden the cards and ranks were back and restored while starting the game before deleting my save game files. I was able to go online by myself, but when I tried to play with a friend I got kicked out of the loading screen every time.

    This morning when I wanted to play, the 721 error code appeared again. I'm gonna try to delete my save game files again and see what happens. I'll report back to this topic with results.

    @EA_Atic,

    Just tried to go online in BF2 and again the 721 error code popped up.

    So, I quit the application, remove my save data and start the game again.

    Im still not able to go online, and lots of error codes popped up. But, it started out with the 524 error code this time.

    Here's in order of appearance, the error codes I'm seeing after trying to connect over and over again:

    Error 524 - This account is not able to play online

    Error 770 - You have lost connection to the EA servers

    Error 721 - Failed to connect to the EA servers

    And after the 721 error appears, that's the only error I see every time I try to connect.

    As you mentioned that all multiplayer settings are saved on the EA servers, could this mean there's an issue in my account on your side?

    I'm seriously out of ideas right now, I feel like I've tried everything on my side.

    Hi- I am having the same issue with the same error code. I have tried all of the same steps; ie: restarted router, restarted PS4, deleted save data files. I am not having issues connecting with any other games and am connected to PSN. All green and running fine. I actually have a signal strength of 100%. I'm not sure if it's relevant, but I am also maxed out to Lvl 70 with Heavy and at Lvl 69 with Assault. Also, not sure if it's relevant, but I leveled up with Assault in an online match yesterday and have been unable to connect since logging off afterwards. Always error code 721. Now, after following all the troubleshooting steps, I am looking at Lvl 1 Arcade and some more error code 721.

    Just got off the phone with customer support. All I had to do was Restore Licenses. Feeling kinda sheepish, but at least I can play now. Hopefully the solution to your issue will be something equally simple. Best of luck.

    On PS4: Go into settings from your home screen, go into account management, click on "Restore Licenses". Super simple. The tech I spoke with said to try this first when you troubleshoot for any game. GL.

    Sorry, forgot to mention... restart PS4 after restoring licenses.
