Also have this problem on PC since the August update. But no one seems to care that the game is unplayable on PC...

Hey, make sure that all drivers for windows are up to date.

You can also try to do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with SWBF2 and turn off any overlay programs for example Discord or Nvidia experience.

Worth to reinstall the GPU drivers for your PC.

  @EA_Atic I am 99% sure everything is up to date. I tried disabeling all the overlays, updated nVidia drivers (clean install), tried clean boot as you mentioned, reinstalled the game, nothing works. I have the crash dumps for this game in my Documents folder if that is of any help to you. I also have my own bug report where I have more info on my problem.
  
  As I said, since the August update it just likes to crash randomly when loading a map and no following update fixed it yet.

    Yeah, this is not a problem on the user end. The Oct. update screwed something up and they are not fixing it. I've been all over talking about this and nothing is getting done. I even said something to Ben Walke on twitter and he never replied. I've got a ton of time wrapped up in BF2 and now it seems I'm just never going to be able to play it again. Thanks, EA.
