Starfighter Assault Should Have Been Better
I was very disappointed with Starfighter Assault - and Squadrons - as a fan of dogfighters. I really think they missed the marks on speed, dogfighting, and skill(s) required. The objective gameplay, especially, was frustrating and I would have been better off strapping nukes to my Y-Wing and suicide bombing -or- putting my craft in *park* and holding down the trigger.
It was ultimately a dogfighter without much good dogfighting.
It's a shame, too, because the game was beautiful. Slow and shallower than necessary, but beautiful. I hold a similar complaint about Battlefield 2 - BF3 should have been a modernization of the maps, systems, and game modes in place - but Battlefront 2 should have at least kept the capital-ship-versus-capital-ship stage we remembered from Battlefront II.
Squadrons wasn't much better, either.
