Turrets sometimes fail to deploy. You even get audio confirmation, but no turret

This happens to me a lot, with both officer and heavy.  I usually can get around it by ensuring the crosshairs is pointed directly at the location I'm trying to deploy, but even that doesn't always work, even if the terrain in front of you is flat and unoccupied.  But those few seconds of trying to get it to deploy, with the animation of deploying and audio confirmation, it can cost you if it doesn't actually deploy.
