Infinite mode
Longevity suggestion for the title. I love the game mostly because it lets me play my tie fighter and alongside friends, but I'm not particularly interested in ruining another living person's day with lopsided engagements. But what would keep this going long after the numbers drop off would be a "normal" mode.
A player/players vs npc mode that lets you do normal missions of varying intensity. Using the games existing assets (I would not be so bold to assume new things be developed at this point) nearly every mission in original x wing and tie fighter can be made. Pilots could either select a mission mode for the style of mission, or select random. Then run it.
Missions could be things like:
- Patrols, sometimes enemies, sometimes not
- Escort
- Assault
- Transport
- Explosives removal/placement
- Fighter v fighter skirmish
- Base defense
- Scramble (base/ship) under assault
Something like that would probably keep this game alive for years and years, if it was customizable enough we could even use it as rpg resolution for air engagements for the swrpg. It would be, pretty cool and within scope and assets for the title.
