EDIT: ISSUE FIXED - SOLUTION PROVIDED ON VIRPIL FORUM

Apparently the whole problem is this (it fixed it for me)

So apparently the game won't recognise devices that don't have X and Y axes, I was able to get my pedals working by simply adding dummy X and Y axes in the config tool as follows:

1.  Start VPC Configuration Tool and make sure "Pro" option selected in the top right

2. On the Axis page double click on a blank row in the table

3. Set Joystick Logical Axis Name to X and click Save (can ignore all other options as we don't actually need to bind this axis to anything)

4. Repeat above on next blank row for Y axis

5. Click Save VPC Device

6. Run Squadrons and it should be selectable in the list of devices now

I have several HOTAS / Joystick devices. All of them are detectable and configurable in the game except:

VIRPIL Mongoost-50

My Tests have included different configurations:

VKB Gunfighter MCG (Right Hand)
VKB Space Fighter Kosmo (Left Hand)

VKB MK IV Pedals

CH PRoducts Combat Stick

CH Products Throttle

Virpil VPC Mongoost-50 Throttle

This has been validated by several members of the HOTAS community, and is not an issue with the hardware or Virpil software (its a DX input)

  • I see that the VKB MK IV pedals reported in other threads as well.  I am having the same problem

  • Thank you for this! My Virpil MT-50 throttle isn’t recognized at all. I use vJoy and JoystickGremlin but it has limited mappable buttons compared to the actual throttle quadrant.

Vjoy only adds 8 buttons by default, but you can reopen it and add more, then redo your JG profile. My stick has 13 but it was only seeing 8 until I fixed it.
