Re: Xbox button prompts when using PS4 controller

If you're using steam check your controller setup in; Steam - Settings - Controller - General controller settings.

One of them will override the button prompts of the ps4 to show xbox/steam controller prompts.

Just disable all support.

@Methuselai  I'm using Origin. Do you use a DualShock controller, and if so, are you seeing the right icons?

The game's creative director just told me on Twitter that it's not supported, so apparently not a bug. It's a shame, especially because all controls work perfectly and it's only the icons that aren't showing.

  • Are you saying that the origin version doesn't support controllers in general or just doesn't support PS4 controllers?

Controllers are supported, and the PS4 controller works great as well, with the exception that it's not showing the right button prompts. The button mapping is correct, but you get A, B, X, Y instead of X, Circle, Square, Triangle.

It's strange that the creative director has confirmed that PS4 controller aren't supported when they have put in effort to make the controller work. It's like they just couldn't bother to include the right icons.

  • Unfortunately I can't even get my dualshock to be recognised as a xbox controller (i'd be perfectly fine if it did as am used to that in games) - mine only shows up as a HOTAS and is completely unusable as controls are all over the place. It is extremely frustrating and has ruined the experience of the game for me :-( Hopefully EA sort this issue soon (its on their known bugs list)
