Xbox one controller on PC causes lag and single digit FPS

I had this problem as well with my xbox wireless controller. Although using a cable does work, I found out that any time my controller's batteries got low, it caused the problems you are experiencing. Try replacing the batteries with fresh ones and see if the problem still exists.
