Bug: Riverbed Watch Chest can not slice/open after collecting Essence nearby

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Killed droids, took Essence, went to chest.
What happens when the bug occurs? The chest stays locked with no prompts to open, unable to ever collect "Bun Hair" inside.
What do you expect to see? The "Slice" option to appear when walking up to the locked chest, ability to open.
In Riverbed Watch above the meditation area, there is an Essence (health) to collect as well as a chest that requires a Slice. Chest contains "Bun Hair" collectable.
After collecting the Essence, BD-1 does not return to shoulder, and will not respond to the Slice button option. After walking back to hopefully trigger him, the Slice option is now missing, so the chest is unable to be open. I attempted a restart, a rest at the meditation area, and a fast travel.
I had the same issue. Eventually I was able to return later in the game and didn't have an issue opening it, but I didn't care for having to leave it be when I was right there. For me the slice issue happened when Cal was trying to use R3 (on PS5) to view something in the distance.
