    Hey geekskii,

Sorry to hear you're having some trouble actually getting started with Jedi: Survivor. That's definitely not typical behavior for most, so we'd want to see what else might be causing that to happen in this situation.

Just to clarify, when exactly does this error pop up? Does Epic launch EA app first, or do you see any splash screens appear before this pops up? Are you seeing the EA app open successfully first, or does the error appear immediately after trying to launch from Epic?

While you've mentioned playing through Epic, it may help to double-check whether EA app is properly installed and whether it has any available updates, as this is required to launch. Please also check that you're logged in with the correct EA account linked to Epic - this account page should show the connections to make sure you're on the right one.

If you're able to grab a dxdiag for us, that could help point to what else may be causing this to happen. I see you mentioned trying everything you've found already, but if you can let us know any specific troubleshooting steps you've already tried, we can avoid suggesting those same steps.

well EA_Mako the error pops up after epic launches ea app, then ea app closes, after that the hourglass cursor appears while nothing launches and at last it sends me back to ea app with that message. the methods ive tried are: repairing the game, reinstalling the game, clearing ea app cache, updated my graphics driver, ended background tasks, ran as administrator and checked if the firewall is blocking the ea app (its not)

ive attached the dxdiag as u requested below

Thanks for all the additional info geekskii.

Based on the dxdiag you've attached, it looks like Jedi Survivor is actually launching and then crashing (multiple APPCRASH entries), rather than failing because of any particular Epic/EA account issues. It also shows several EA app hangs and EALaunchHelper process crashes which could mean the EA app installation or one of its supporting components may be corrupted.

It's also worth noting your GTX 1060 is below the minimum requirements (GTX 1070 8 GB), though that alone typically wouldn't cause the EA app launch helper to crash.

The next things I'd try would be:

    • Fully uninstall and clean-reinstall the EA app
      • Uninstall EA app
      • Remove/delete:
        • %LocalAppData%\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop
        • %ProgramData%\EA Desktop
      • Reinstall EA app
    • Temporarily disable background programs or overlays such as SteelSeries Sonar, OBS, MSI Afterburner/RTSS, Overwolf, etc.
    • Delete or rename %LOCALAPPDATA%\SwGame to rebuild Survivor's configuration files.

    Hey geekskii,

Couple more things to try! It looks like there's also similar crashing happening in the background with a Roblox launcher/installer, so we may need to try spreading the net a bit wider.

A clean boot can help make absolutely certain there aren't other programs or processes still running in the background that could be interfering here.

Adding a new user account to see if you're able to run it there could help with any potential registry or permission-related issues. If you're still not seeing a change there, it may be worth running the System File Checker tool to try checking for any other potential corrupted files that could be contributing to an issue.

i managed to fix the roblox error with deleting the local app data, but jedi survivor still isnt working, also i checked and battlefront 2 and fallen order both work just fine, its just survivor thats doing this

  • I have been having the same issue I have tried all the same steps and nothing is working. I have played the game in the past on this pc and I have not made any hardware changes.
