Have bought charged blaster mod but can't equip it

I bought the area charged shot from the bounty hunter store, and I have tried both the meditation points and workbenches, and yet for some reason when I try and change what charged shot I have equipped, the option to change it simply doesn't come up at all. I play on ps5
