[OPEN] Blaster and force menu don't work after remapping keys (any platform)

I am having the same issue just on Xbox Series X. 'special attack' is bound to right trigger, but it does nothing even though the tutorial even tells me to use right trigger. The blaster only fires when pressing Y, which I have had bound to force push, so I can not use the blaster at all unless my force bar is empty.

Summarize your bug Beginning of the game, tutorial for ally targeting. The part where Bode says 'Sure thing. On your signal." The game prompts me to hold X. However I've altered my controls from the default. I am now softlocked and will have to reset the game and troubleshoot why this happens.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I will list the changes I made to the default controls for Xbox. See the summary for where this occurs in the game. Attack to RT Block to LT Force Push to RB Force Pull to LB Focus to X
What happens when the bug occurs? My remapping of Focus to X unbinds Companion Combat Assist. Therefore, when the tutorial teaching me how to get Bode to target enemies results in a softlock, as the tooltip says to hold X.
What do you expect to see? There are some unresolved issues with various button remapping. I'm not sure how to fix this. I want to have attack and block on triggers, force push and pull on shoulder buttons. Maybe allowing Focus and Companion Combat Assist to be bound to the same button might fix this? As it stands right now, I have to bind X to focus, then rebind it to Companion Combat Assist, or the game will softlock at the tutorial for Companion Combat Assist targeting.

Need more freedom in button remapping if possible.

EA please hot fix this!! I want to use this stance so bad and the blaster is unusable with any controller remapping. How does this make it into the base game??

When using the special attack button on my keyboard, the blaster doesn't fire. The gamepad button though works fine. 

Even stranger, once I fired with the gamepad button, the keyboard bind works as well, for a moment. Then it stops working again. 

I also noticed, that when the gamepad is connected, I wasn't able to use the dodge keybind on my keyboard for freeing myself from being impaled. The button prompt shows the gamepad button and my keyboard dodge button does nothing. I can dodge normally with it though.

Something is wrong with the bindings here... I'd really love to use that blaster and I will not play the game with a gamepad, like, no way in hell. :D

EDIT: 

Just restarted the game, the blaster worked and then stopped again once I was in a fight. It also stayed broken then until another restart.

The special attack keybind works fine with any other lightsaber stance. 

I have this same issue. Additionally, the Tame command doesn’t work when bound to L2. Really frustrating to go through the process of figuring out a way to get shoulder-button combat working with the control bindings, only to find that several actions don’t actually respond to rebinds at all.

Summarize your bug Blaster shot only fires if the triangle button is pressed. Even if special attack is remapped it will still fire with triangle. Tame/call mount will only work when remapped to certain buttons. For example it would not work on L2, but would on square. Focus—as it’s referred to in remapping—will work fine, so you can use abilities such as confuse. The problem only occurs with mounts when remapping controls.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Remap your controls from default. This occurred with my controls remapped to special attack on R2 and focus on L2.
What happens when the bug occurs? The intended commands do not work and the game acts as if no button is being pressed.

Summarize your bug Rebound controller buttons on PC with a PS5 controllers do not function as they should with certain gameplay features. Namely triggers do not perform specified function all the time, only after relevant keyboard key has been pressed do they function properly but only for a short time before going back to being useless.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Using a PS5 (maybe other controllers also?) controller, rebind Special attack to the right trigger (may work with other trigger too) and then use the blaster stance and attempt to use the blasters special attack. Sometimes it works the first time but then once I get running around and enter combat it always stops. Then you must press the keyboard button for special attack (F by default) or sometimes pressing the original controller bind also makes the button work.
What happens when the bug occurs? As explained above, the triggers once rebound to new controls don't work unless keyboard binds are used, then it seemingly allows the triggers to function normally for a short period before resetting to a state of not responding.
What do you expect to see? I expect that when I press the button it has been reassigned to, it should perform the function it has been assigned without issue. As every other rebinding I have done works just fine.

I swapped the buttons for attacking and using force powers, so I use R1 and R2 for regular and special attacks instead of Square and Triangle. Everything works fine, except for my triggers but only on certain occasions.

Once I unlocked the blaster stance I found that I cannot fire the blaster using R2 until I press the button my keyboard to fire the blaster, then I will be able to use R2 to fire the blaster for a short period until it resets and I must press the keyboard button for it to work again. Sometimes pressing the original binding for special attack triangle, which I have bound to force pull and also ascension cable, will make R2 then work for a brief period to fire the blaster, but it doesn't always work. Other weapon stances have no issues using R2 to do the special attack.

The other issue I've had with rebinding buttons is assigning focus to L2, focus works normally all the time, but whenever the game calls for me to tame a new animal, it prompts me to press L2 but it never works ever, I have to press the button on my keyboard to tame an animal. Which barely impacts gameplay since it only happens so often and not during action, so I can easily press the button on my keyboard instead to tame the animals.

I have tried unbinding every other control assigned to the same keys, but it does not help resolve the issue.

Been running into this issue as well, Don't get why there wouldn't be an option to have similar controls as BattleFront

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Switch the key bind in settings to anything other then 👍 it uses the special attack button
What happens when the bug occurs? Cant shoot or use the blaster
What do you expect to see? Being able to use the blaster with whatever button is set in settings

I use the Left trigger for my special attack and it won’t for everything So far but if I use the blaster stance I can only use the lightsaber no matter how I try pressing the button holding it or whatever it does NOT shoot which makes it impossible to use one of the key game features. And if I have it set to Y the default it works fine so it just means the blaster ignores the settings and just gone with its default unless in settings you have the special attack set to something other then default it just won’t shoot at all because Y is used for something else so you are unable to use the blaster.
