Only way to fix it is to go back into accessibility settings and turn the setting off and on again. Rinse and repeat after 1-4 pulls. Applies to both objects and enemies, but I specifically tested this on objects to confirm it's a bug. DYSPROssium edit: updated formatting of title/body.

I'm finding it occurring even more frequently than on death or rest. I haven't tied it down exactly, but it seems that perhaps both transiting between major map sections, and simply using the Meditation Points to save (without doing anything else at them) is enough to reset it.

PC user here. identical fault.Using TOGGLE HOLD PULL option ceases to function( no hold unless key held), despite it showing in the menu as on, it must be re-toggled to operate again. It again fails after a period of time.My analysis hasn't revealed a specific cause yet.This is entirely speculation, but I cannot help but feel it was something to do with Key and controls ported from console. PC usually has more options and keyboard controls.Annoying 🙂

Im on ps5 and this issue occurs for me as well, it occurs anytime a game is saved via meditation or when a zone is loaded and its really annoying just constantly reactivation the feature

Here's how it works on PC:In the main menu, under gameplay, when you toggle "hold pull key" or whatever it's called from it's default, (it's turned off by default), it untoggles after falling off a platform or dying in game. This is especially annoying when trying to solve puzzles, but can also affect combat in certain instances.Also note that when checking the menu after falling off a platform or dying, it appears toggled but in game you still have to hold the pull key. This can be fixed by going into the main menu, and untoggling then re-toggling the option.It's much more preferred to just have to press "3" once when trying to pull something than having to hold it while trying to use other keys with one hand on mouse and keyboard, to make things especially clear.

I have tried this and the UI toggle, and I'm still forced to hold down LT when trying to hold something. I thought the whole point was I would just be able to hit LT and he would keep holding whatever it is I need him to hold until I press LT or RT to Drop or throw the item. I am disabled so I will need this feature in order to keep playing the game!

It doesn't work for me at all, let alone having to reset it. Either way thank you for saying something, hopefully this will get noticed.

Yup, chalk me up as another person having this problem on PC. Like others, I have rebound the key; the feature stops working intermittently; and toggling the feature off and on again makes it work for a while before it stops again.
I wonder if it's possibly related to the same bug that's causing Blaster Stance not to work, where the game is incorrectly loading parts of the default binding scheme instead of the user's saved scheme.

Same issue with Toggle Hold Pull. It also appears to be affecting the "Button mash options" setting as well. Possibly others, but I can't confirm that.
