Is it possible to get passed level 50 in SWTOR with a free to play character?

I have recently reached level 50 while playing with a free to play character, but even though I am able to earn experience points I am pretty much stuck at Level 50.  I am currently on Balmorra which...

    Sorry, the level cap for PREFERED AND FREE TO PLAY IS 50, no matter the level of the planet. The xp you gain is saved....but you won't be able to level up unless you subscribe.

Yeah, but if I let the subscription run out will I be frozen at whatever level I had attained at that point?  I would imagine EA games would have thought of this.

Once you have subscribed for 30 days you can continue to level to 70 and access all the expansions to KOTET the only thing I believe you cant access is the galactic command after the sub ends

Ie even after your sub stops if you create a new character you can level to 70 and play all the currently released expansions

      yes 70 is cap for now.
