Q: Recovering a long lost account

First off, I played SW:TOR since the Beta.

My old guild won an EA guild pre-order contest, and was the first guild to be invited to Dreamhack where we played the first ever guild PvP premade match on the alienware section of the event.

Now, some time ago I quit the game due to school, work and pressing matters.

However, a rekindled interest in this game has awoken the desire to reactivate my old account where all my preorder-snacks and old characters lie dormant.

BUT: Since I quit, I have swapped my smartphone into a newer edition (needless to say: there goes my Security Key) AND I have such a vast variety of passwords that I can't remember my old one.

It seems I need my password to get the security key removed, and further it seems I need my security key to reset my password. So I'm sort-of stuck with both feet in the concrete, with nowhere to take my first step towards freedom. Calling customer service was agonizingly slow and expensive last time I had to do it, with over 40min waiting time and Scrooge-like costs.

Who here has the insight and creativity to help me? I feel I've spent too much money on my old account to just discard it for a new one.

You don't need your Security Key to reset your password, you just need access to the email address that is associated with your SWTOR account.

Just go to https://account.swtor.com/user/password/recover and enter your Display Name (not your email address). The Display Name is identical to your forum name, and then check your emails.

By the way, your SWTOR account is attached to your EA account so you can also just try to login e.g. at Origin with your email address and restore the password there. But for some older accounts (which you seem to have) this may not work.

And yes, if everything else fails, calling Customer Service is the last resort. They can restore the account for you, you just have to be patient and the waiting time is not too bad. For telephone numbers, see the bottom of http://www.swtor.com/support

Yeah, the number doesn't f-ing work. Just tried calling for account related issues and it just tells me to go to help.ea.com, where I originally got the f-ing number and doesn't f-ing have any other method of contact to resolve the issue I'm facing. EA is a f-ing joke. It's not even f-ing 00:00 UTC yet.

Can you tell I'm pissed because your suppot f-ing sucks? GOOD! Provide better f-ing support.

@proxos666 When's the last time you f-ing called the support number? Because all I got was an automated message saying to go back to the same f-ing site I got the number from, which told me to call and as stated before, only told me to go to help.ea.com. Circular BS "support".
