Same issue here. Though I am rolling with AMD Radeon, not NVidia. Hope you find a solution.
i spoke to soon, doing the new content and getting massive frame rate lose during combat and when just running around, drops as low as 30 frames on ultra, even after doing everything i can here to improve it...

I have a i7 3930K with a GTX 970 on Ultra @ 2560 x 1440 will monitor my FPS on the new content over the next few days, doing different things and different areas
Initially lowest is about 60 fps and average around 80 to a max of 100ish , game play is smooth at all times.

yeah, it's really got me stumped, i dunno why, this machine i am running is litterrally only 2 weeks only as of tomorrow, and both systems, have had issues running star wars, my previous system was an Alienware 17, i7-4900MQ 2.80ghz, 32gig of ram, windows 10 pro 64bit and a Geforce GTX 780M 4gig, the new system is within the same realm, i5-4590 3.30GHz 16gig of ram, windows 10 pro x64, Gigabyte Geforce GTX 960 4gig OC edition, and both of them had the exact same fps issues, be it on tython or in the new content... really starting to drive me up the wall.
