Yeah, just saw what version it was using. That's what you get when you let Windows install drivers. I know better than that.
I'll give that a try and see what happens. Will let you know soon.
Edit: will try that as well.

Updating the driver fixed it. I feel pretty stupid for missing that. I'd assumed that it would install a current driver rather than one a year out of date. Thanks, man.

If you push the windows key and type reliability , open the reliability monitor , check this every day for a bit , if no more records like it then should be good.
the reliability monitor should have an entry for that corruption and the date it occurred , the dxdiag doesn't show the date.
