Alright, i did the windows update, restarted, tried the game and had no change.
then I followed the guide for that DDU and did a clean install of my video drivers and it still does the exact same thing.
very odd dll to crash with , try setting as a clean boot https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd
have you tried booting with one monitor attached or attaching a different monitor if you have one ? (there is a reason to check this)

i tried unplugging one of my monitors and launching the game like that, but did not do a reboot with only one plugged in. i'll try that now.

i tried doing a reboot with only one monitor plugged in, same result.
followed the steps to do a clean boot and also still crashing the same.
i do not have a different monitor to try.

can you attach a new dxdiag after the windows updates etc

here you go

The crash reports have changed and Asus now appears too , maybe worth uninstalling the AI suite as a test ( think that is part of it )
KeyBotII.exeyou can press the windows key and type reliability and then open the reliability history , that can show you what is occurring each day
- 5 years ago
so uninstall AI Suite 3? and whatever that keybot is?
- proxos6665 years agoHero+
cant hurt , have a look at the reliability history see if there is anything further mentioned
- 5 years ago
the only things in the reliability history is SWTOR many times, the keybot a bunch of times, and Origin once. i will uninstall the keybot and ai suite and try the game again.

done, no change still.
i'll work on the driver now
new video driver installed, no change.

did you have the issue prior to using 471.11 ?
league of legends for example is a d3d9 game of similar ilk to swtor interesting it is listed as failing to launch
maybe worth using ddu again and reverting to a 469 version video driver to be sure
- 5 years ago
i haven't played SWTOR in a couple of years, and am pretty sure it has never been played/installed on this machine before. i just recently felt like getting back into SWTOR and this problem came up from the beginning a couple days ago.
I have not had any problem like this before with anything else.

@Littletimer
I have to go for now (wife wants me to do work...) , can check back laterI always have said black screen crash is usually video driver related , how is the question though , game setting or something else
- proxos6665 years agoHero+
try a driver revsion to something before 471.11 , you can see current issues for driver releases at https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/457587/geforce-47111-grd-feedback-thread-released-62221/

i'll try reverting to an older video driver. it's past my bed time already anyway.
again, i really appreciate your help with troubleshooting.
