SWTOR loading screen stuck

Hello all.

So recently i decide to play SWTOR, because i haven't for like a 1 month. I'm patched the 4.2a succesfully then i started the game, but the loading screen(the first loading screen, when you start the game) stucks, and now for like a 30 min i never meet this problem before suggestions?

When the windowed screen comes up press alt + enter to switch to full screen but that shouldn't be causing the issue. I use window mode and works fine.

Do you use zone alarm? Just out of curiosity. Also I would try a DNS flush just in case. Open your command prompt and type

    Ipconfig /flushdns

Is this happening on all characters or just one? If just that one did you log out of that character while in a stronghold?

Opps sorry for the miss-understanding. First to make sure nothing is being blocked I would add Swtor.exe and launcher.exe to your anti-virus and firewall safe / exception list. I would alsoopen your command prompt and do a DNS flush as well.

    Type /ipconfig flushdns

In the command prompt and the restart the game and try again.

Let me know if that works.

I did the ipconfig, restarted the game but still, the exe files are in safe list but still not loading.

Install and run the launcher repair utility here:

    http://answers.ea.com/t5/STAR-WARS-The-Old-Republic/GUIDE-Launcher-Troubleshooting/m-p/4805820#2

If that doesn't work run a repair:

Non-Streaming launcher - Log into the launcher but don't click Play. Check for small letters "ST" in the bottom left corner. If this is NOT present, With the new launcher after login , select the username pull down on the top right and select settings, then press repair.

Streaming launcher - If the letters "ST" is present, close the launcher, right mouse click on the game shortcut, select open file location and delete the BitRaider folder. Then start the launcher.

Still doesnt work, the ST was present i closed the launcher then deleted the bitraider folder.

The client started to verifying, and when its completed i clicked on play.

Maybe its a problem that i am on windowed screen? Where can i change to fullscreen? A try.

  • If you are running in Steam - Right click on SWOTOR in Steam - go to manage- turn off Steam overlay (that was screwing up the loading).
