Moved to Star Wars Old Republic forum.
Most common issue is to do with the antivirus and firewall so first thing is to remove and re-add exceptions for both launcher.exe and swtor.exe in all the exception lists to ensure it isn't being blocked.
I have moved your threads together as sometimes it can be a net issue as cause in which case nothing you do on the PC will have any affect.
In cases like this it helps to see if you guys are using the same ISP for example , if it is a net issue it usually resolves on its own but if it persists it may need further investigation.
It also helps to know the antivirus you guys are using in case there is a commonality there for example.
