Unable to delete character

Issue: I cannot DELETE a character. I've done everything I can think of. I've deleted every item from the mailbox, the inventory, sent all my credits to another character on this account, rebooted, l...

    Customer service indicated that I had an item unclaimed in the Cartel Market.  After checking the CM for unclaimed items, there was indeed a "New Comer" pack.  After accepting it, I was able to delete the character.  However, there was no notification that I had anything unclaimed in CM.  Issue resolved.
