f you receive a Launcher error message stating, “Certificate Authentication Failed, please contact Customer Support” and does not start or receive patch files, this may be due to disabled or out of date Windows Root Certificates.
If you are using the Windows XP SP3 then you can download the certificate manually from: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en....aspx?id=28175
If your computer is running the Windows Vista/7 Operating System Certificates should be automatically loaded. In order to check this, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
- Click on Start and type “gpedit.msc” into the search field.
- Press enter and wait for the window to appear
- Click on “Administrative Templates” then “System”
- Click on “Internet Communication Management”
- Click on “Internet Communication settings”. From here, you should be able to see ““Turn off Automatic Root Certificates Update”. This should be set to “Not Configured” or “Disabled”.
