Thanks for looking into this. I was disappointed yesterday to see this had been flagged as spam before I went to sleep, so glad that seems to no longer be the case!

I have uninstalled the AMD software & drivers as suggested and completed a fresh install of 26.3.1. My system still crashes severely after compiling shaders, after being left for less than a minute on the "Press space to begin" landing page.

I wonder if vbaudio_cablea64_win7.sys is causing this issue, worth looking into.

Are you running in a VM or other Virtual Environment? 

Some troubleshooting steps: 

1. Clean-install the graphics driver with DDU in Safe Mode. 
2. Perform a Clean Boot, particularly excluding Razer and any RGB/peripheral, monitoring, overlay, recording and remote-desktop software.
3. Disable overlays from Steam, EA, Discord, NVIDIA/AMD and Xbox Game Bar.
4. Disconnect additional monitors and test with one display only. (done)
5. Temporarily disable HDR, VRR/G-SYNC/FreeSync and Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS), reboot and test. 
6. Return the GPU to stock settings if it's overclocked/undervolted.
7. Update the motherboard/system BIOS and chipset drivers. (only attempt if confident in your ability, risk of bricking PC)
8. Repair Windows:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

then:

sfc /scannow

I uninstalled the VB Audio Cable drivers - crash persisted.

Clean install of graphics driver in Safe Mode also did not work.

However, performing a clean boot has let me stay at the main menu for a full five minutes without a crash, and safely exit the game - first time since installing! So this seems promising. I guess next step is to turn things I have disabled back on one at a time to see which is causing an issue?

Having spent a couple of hours turning services off and on and endlessly rebooting, I think this was a false positive. Couldn't get any consistent results other than the severe crash I have originally reported. I have run out of time for testing for now, will pick up the next potential fix when I have a moment.

I've been able to spend a few more hours testing. Disabling Steam & Discord overlays has had no effect.

I've gone through a huge variety of combination of services in msconfig. Having everything disabled still provides the best results, and I've been unable to pin the issue on any single service.

A combination that seems to be working for me at the moment (10 minutes at main menu without crashing) is having the following services disabled:

• AMD Crash Defender Service
• AMD External Events Utility
• ASUS Com Service
• ASUS System Control Service
• ASUSFanControlService
• Corsair Gaming Audio Configuration Service

Not sure having these disabled is a viable long term solution though?

EDIT: The above combination crashed after about 12 minutes. It's feeling like a "volume of services" issue at the moment.

I have got through all the proposed solutions. FreeSync disabled & rebooted, still crashes. Don't have any of the other technologies listed.

I haven't touched the GPU since I installed it so don't think there's anything to be done on this one.

Motherboard BIOS and chipset drivers updated; still crashes.

DISM and sfa scannow found no issues with Windows.

The only thing that's having an effect is disabling lots of services and doing a clean boot.

There could very well be a conflict with these services if disabling them and performing a clean boot allows you to play without crashing JimmyTurx​ 

Can you let us know if you're still having this issue?

I never managed to resolve the issue and ended up upgrading my system.

New motherboard, CPU (Ryzen 7 9850X3D) and RAM. The game now runs, so have been enjoying that.

I did manage to reproduce the crash even with the new setup. The only thing that had changed was, I had played another game that required compiling shaders between Zero Company play sessions; exactly the same symptoms, could get to main menu and whole system would die, requiring a hard reboot.

Clearing the shader cache in the AMD Adrenaline Software and recompiling shaders on booting up Zero Company seems to resolve it. But I am very hesitant to play any other game whilst I am still going through ZC!
