Exactly. You need some feeling for the things to come and prepare for this. For example, with JTR I had a pretty clear idea what was coming and farmed the vets early and hard, so I got her for free the first time. Revan also was pretty clear, but the release was so fast and my crystal stack not big enough / my farming not quite hard enough, so I had to pay some to get him.
For the next event I got a pretty good idea that all 5 scoundrel ships will be needed to get OT Falcon, so I farmed all of them as hard as reasonably possible (going up to 50 crystals per shard), at the risk of basically wasting crystals for hard node refreshes instead of farming Embo and Jango at the same time. This looks like it was the right idea, let's see if I manage to get them to 7 stars in time (XB is 34/100, IG-2000 12/100, three pilots are g12, the other three g11). The other consequence of my insights from the Revan event is that you need a crystal stash, so I'm pretty stingy since then and at 25k crystals now.
Getting back to the topic, my idea is that there WILL be a Kotor based Sith event in February, I'm just not sure what will be needed as there are "only" 3 Kotor toons waiting to become farmable (Juhani, Carth, Canderous) and it's getting a bit late even for panic farming standards as they aren't out yet. Which is good as I'd be forced to make a decision between scoundrel ships and Kotor toons if they are put on more hard nodes...
