Not likely.

The R2 event didn't increase in difficulty with the rebel pass leading up to CLS.
Even though all the rebels you fight in the R2 even had their kits greatly updated, devs confirmed that the difficulty wouldn't have changed much.

Wow, that’s awesome. I had two Zetas, my Resistance were g10 and g11. Vets g8 without mods. It was cake. But I hadn’t been able to imagine it without Zeta at least on Finn

G7 Finn, G10 Rey, G8 Vets, G9 BB-8 is what I completed it with, those riot troopers are the most evil things I've seen in this game so far

Gear 11/12 no problems

Store all gear, omegas and zetas as it’s already been suggested in case you need to boost your team.

You could also strip your arena mods of your arena team and put them on, it’s a pain but highly effective.
