Conquest is a disappointment

5-9 days is correct. It really depends on what you're doing with global feats. I tend to mostly ignore them bc they can be done simultaneously with datacron farming. People more efficient than I get things done in maybe 5.5 days. 

I tend to get through s5, having feat cleanup to do, but start DC farming right away to replace my expired DCs. Then once the TW signup period is over and I can't improve my DCs anymore bc of lock-in, then I finish any non-global feats I need and go back to DC farming + global feats for a bit, then strictly swimming for DC mats for the rest of the week. So I'm basically done at 5 days (and other people are done that quickly) but with my DC-first approach and not worrying about global feat efficiency it usually takes me 7 days + a few hours. I finished Red Crate about 2 hours ago. Last time we did this I was a bit more efficient and finished on Sunday night (so 6.5 days). 

As for the mode itself? I still find it fun. More fun than RotE -- which I like, don't get me wrong. 

I honestly can’t see conquest being a game mode much longer.  They’re giving away relic 5 and higher characters with the LSTs and bundles.  It’s either going to become R10 characters we’re facing with the same dumb bonuses because EA/CG can’t make fun original content or the mode will go away like Galactic Challenge did.  Bit Dynasty has the absolute best videos on this game mode.  

As constructively as I can say this, it really is a skill issue (based of my vague impression of your roster, given that you said you had GL teams at r7/r8).

Conquest is actually my favorite game mode. But I also get it: Some of the bonuses are BS. And if I take the wrong team, one or two of my under-geared (now under-reliced) characters will melt before I get a turn. Still, success mostly comes down to team selection and data disks. 

If there are specifc teams you're struggling with, ask away. I or others can suggest teams that have worked for us against them. 

For data disks, you need 3 things:

1. To not die: Fortified (defense plus TM), Entrenched (protection up), Protection shield (recover protection when hit), Vitality (health and protection)
2. To get a turn: Fortified and Solid Intel (both give you reactive TM when hit)
3. To win quickly: Weak Spot/Point (quickly ramping offense), Zealous Ambition (supports/healers become monster hitters). Really, these can get insane; I end up having to take them off to farm feats. Stacking Fervor and Blindside could work (plus Assertive Command if your team doesn't naturally assist). Some people also swear by Caustic Emissions/Volatile Accelerator builds to just survive and watch the other team die from dots. 

I can usually get hard Conquest done in about 6 days (second-to-last crate; longer if I'm going for red). With energy refreshes, I use my viable teams 2–3 times a day to space out their stamina. No consumables needed. 

Nihilus sounds right.

PS: Outrun, I'm not the OP I was just sharing an experience I'd had in an assault battle which I felt added extra credence to the actual OP's own experience.

I think I used Palps, Malak, Revan, Nihilus and Traya. The health damage Palpatine passively inflicted + Nihilus instakill was key.

Maybe BSF was there, I don’t remember the specifics either…

Thanks. I haven't played that in so long that I forgot the mechanics. 

But now that you mention it, I remember doing it with Palp, Revan, Malak, Dark Bastila + 1 and throwing out as many debuffs as possible to get Palp's TM train going. 

I’m just going to put in that I’m pretty sure that AB doesn’t really use TM gains beyond that one Bariss enemy.

Its still OP’s skill issue, I’ve done it with Sith, but they’re not wrong about how many turns the enemy takes.

Real world example of this is I just completed the last tier of that assault battle where you can use First Order against the Jedi.

I sent in SLKR, KRU, DVRey, Sith Trooper and OGKylo. I won the event, however, to get there I had to sit through about 20minutes of endless enemy turns.

Skill issue. 

Hux prevents TM gain. If you had put in Hux instead of OGKylo, the enemy team couldn't TM-Jump and you wouldn't have had to sit through that. 

One of the single most important skills a player can have in this game is knowing what you have available to stop TM gain -- or to frustrate it. 

JML can stop 1 key toon from gaining TM. If that toon is key to the TM train, that might be enough. 

Admiral Raddus stops TM gain by Empire.

Lord Vader has AoE Daze. 

JMK negates all TM gain in his leadership. 

Hux negates ENEMY TM gain, but not allied TM gain, if he has advantage, which, if you're using SLKR and a tank, he will. This is perhaps the best TM-jumping negation ability in the game. 

PKHO has TM jumping himself, which, combined with Captain Silvo, makes it easy to get out ahead of enemies and take out one or even 2 enemies that provide TM gain before they even move -- do to them what they threaten to do to you. 

Tuskens gain infinite Defense and infinite Tenacity when the enemy TM-jumps. The other side does go, and you can wait for a one minute, but not for 20. It doesn't take long before they are all stunned (attacking a Tusken with 15+ stacks of Momentum results in them stunning themselves), then you go again. 

There are so many ways to handle TM jumping. If you don't like it, just take some time to learn about the tools you have available to you. Hux is the obvious one in this case bc you need to use First Order in that battle, but you have so many different mechanisms available that this shouldn't be hard.
