I have yet to join the 4 mill club, but, due to Dengar, I am a frequent visitor to the 3.5 mill club. My top before was 2.4. With a good rng I can see clearing p2 in the future. About to redo all my mods to help this, just haven't had the time.

Point is, to say the Dengar won't help FTP players because of no Rex is completely false.
I'm glad he's working for you after that investment. I guess what I'm trying to get at is if Dengar will help achieve the very high scores that we've been seeing on here if Rex isn't included, so basically if he can be used without Rex and clear both p1 and p2 in the same run.
