I have been running a Tarkin (L), magma, RG, Vader and Tusken shaman group lately on my server and it can compete with any of the teams in the current meta (took #1 at patio today). Toughest opponent is Lumi hiding behind RG. If you can't burst her down with Vader before RG taunts and she gets her heal off then you are most likely doomed.
You basically function by grinding down the other team with dots, debuffs and stuns and outlast them with the high overall hp's. I like the Tusken shaman a lot with the empire team... his heal is no joke when the other team has negative effects and the offense up boost when he heals is a nice bonus.
It's not a ftp team (at least not yet) but it does work well and I really enjoy playing it. I'm looking forward to the next update and seeing how it does with the combat changes.
Opinion on Veers? I'm f2p and currently farming him among others.
From looking at his stats, Veers seems like he's only useful in an Empire team.
