I like your idea but I'm uncertain if they can implement a live system. What would be a happy medium is to have the system they do now, but issue the rewards for winning as you described, but against the computer instead, takes away the problem people are having with cheaters immediately!!!
You can't give rewards for winning because the big dog would never get attacked
