Fight Submission Timeout

Ran into this for the first time, not sure if it’s new or not but I’ve not seen it in a year of play. Decided to set my phone down and take care of something while waiting for my GA fight to finish out so I could preload intelligently, only to come back a few minutes later than expected to find that the fight was automatically forfeited. Who in their right mind thought that was a good idea? God forbid I have to step away from the game for longer than 4 minutes. Any hope of full cleaning is gone now, so thanks for costing me and god knows how many other players their matches with this idiotic mechanic.

This is actually a new thing ever since they implemented the ''preload protection'' where you can now submit or forfeit a lost battle. Before this new preload protection was a thing, you could simply let an intelligent preload run out of time and it would automatically register the battle afterwards. So you could then clean the team up with whatever. Now, after the new preload protection system, you actually have to be present and submit/forfeit the battle. I don't know what the time limit on submitting/forfeiting, but it's probably around a minute at most. So if you want to intelligently preload something, and let the timer run out, you will only have like a minute to submit the result after the timer reaches 0, or else the system fails to register your battle altogether and you just lose a team and the full preload progress. It's a very stupid system, that they should definitely fix, but I fear it might be very difficult for them to program this, so I'm assuming it's not gonna change sadly. I'm no programmer though, so maybe it's not as hard to fix. Someone with knowledge on the matter might know it better than me.

I agree. I think a timer would help or something like tb where you can leave it there forever and be ok. if you take more than the event just get the "this event has ended" message.

I've been burned a few times in gac too

Just to be clear, your suggestion is to auto-submit if you're unavailable to decide?
I don't see that being necessarily better overall. Last TW I sat down to do a battle in the evening and one of my kids woke up (unrelated to me gaming), I went to take care of him, and after a pretty long time I could look back to my phone. I was very happy that battle was auto-forfeited tbh, would have really sucked to leave a preloaded team for my guild to deal with.

If you're suggesting that the forfeit/submit screen stay up indefinitely, they would need need to code it differently for GAC vs. TW, as you could otherwise end up locking up a zone if you forgot about the battle in TW and didn't post a result.
I don't see the issue being large enough for CG to code two different alternatives.

One possible solution, is to give an option to predetermine preferred action, similar to full auto vs. basic.

Yeah, auto-forfeit on a raid isn't a terrible idea if you solo it and walk away.

Auto-forfeit on GAC or TW is absolutely terrible idea. That should be fixed ASAP. Who even came up with that?
