GAC unfair match ups

I got matched up against guys with 2 GL (i have one) and a *total* difference of 1.5m gp. I am at 4.8 against 6.2m. Go figure...
Though.. its (allegedly) the 80 top toons that are taken into consideration when matchmaking algo runs.

How are your top-X characters compared to your opponents'?

I don't like this, you could both have the same top 8p toons all maxed, while one has the rest g13/reliced, while the other has an average of g8/9 and the matchmaking would still consider this a "fair fight". If the game mode is about the top 80, then only allow people to use the top 80 instead of the whole roaster

Top teams they were slightly higher but as soon as I don't beat on first attempt I run out of teams quickly as I start going into g9 instead of g12.

Tell me about that when i had to keep several teams to possibly fight two maxed out GL's leaving me without any defence. I don't like it either, I am just explaining how it works.

Don't expect this to get changed though. Too expensive.

Yes, this effects the match.
Yes, this needs to be looked at when they chanhe GAC with adding more divisions etc.

Half a million does make a difference when your in lower GP.

A half mil is (presumably) ~10% deviation, thats within reason of you still having a better build than them.

For example waqui is probably half a mil higher in gp than me, but if we played it would be a walk in the park.

When youre getting into 1mil+ territory the difference in roster has not been accurately captured by the match-making.

It happens because in the beginning of GA people were matched on total GP and complained incessantly about how unfair it was since it shouldn’t matter what’s at the bottom of your roster that you’re not actually using and CG actually listened to those people and changed it.

80 characters all maxed and none of the rest higher than g9? I have yet to see such a roster. But, ok: If only that player maxed the 80 characters, he's actually using, that match is not far off.

On average round winners in div. 1 and 2 use just about the amount of characters that MM is based on to win their rounds. If they use some characters from outside their top-80, they also leave some from inside their top-80 unused. Matching by GP of top-80 characters is very close to matching by GP of the characters that are actually used to win.
