I'm completely guessing here, but the difference between this and other EA games may be its format. A New meta or keystone pve toon here means a huge amount of new income to them. And here one person not buying something because of a bad video hurts more than in another type of game. Or when a video comes out that says "this team is great" and its not after people spent a bunch of money on it has a lot more backlash for the same reasons. I dont know if EA has other FTP games, but they probably don't have the Star Wars license is the same format.
It doesnt matter to me personally either way because I'm not an impulse buyer. The very little money I have spent on the game was always after a few weeks of the toon being tested by other folks first. The only people that really get hurt by videos either way are those that have to have the toon day 1.
